Resurfacing rubber rollers

Hi guys. Has anybody sent a rubber roller off for reconditioning? I've removed the roller from our round baler since it's covered it cut marks from a stanley knife and net wraps round it every fifth bale or so since I knackered it. The cost of new is ridiculous so looking for a cheaper alternative

I have resurfaced rotary lobe pump impellers with this https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/fillers-putties/0692867

I'd rate having a specialist doing the job over a tin of do it yourself rubber paste every time. Having seen it done, the specialist companies spin the roller in a lathe whilst sanding off the surface with a linishing belt. This makes sure that the finished roller is perfectly round. If it isn't perfect, you will have problems.
