....and their mothers to the kennels yesterday.
😤 feckin sheep.
Had the knackerman here yesterday for a dead ewe….I said to him, the ewe either dies and leaves you with nothing….or dies and leaves you with 2 pet lambs (which mine did)

I've a pure Texel Hogg with a pair of cracking Beltex-Texel lambs at foot I need to put down. She went down with CCN and hasn't responded to treatment

Ofcourse - she's my best Texel Hogg, too 😢
Sorry to hear you lost that battle. I only ever seem to save staggers cases by treating before moving. Is it the same with CCN, Similar sort of stress on the brain I would have thought. Only ever had a couple of cases

Best always die. Had a big dead texel in the week for no reason, she was so big a heavy that I had to get loader with Muck grab to lift here. While I had a £30 Welsh broker that I put my finger through a prolapse and she is completely fine. 🤦‍♂️

I've a few ewes running I might not be sad to see the back of, but you're right it's ALWAYS the best which fvck up and die.

At least I've got her cross bred son and daughter to keep (son is twinned onto another hogg already)... and her sister is a very good looking sheep too (the new favourite, do no doubt she'll die coupied before shearing) with a daughter at foot.
And her mum has given me possibly the best looking ewe lamb I've ever bred (only 5wks old, but very excited to see how she grows and turns out!)

Walking ewes and lambs off the hill and managed to go over a drop and get stuck with the wheels off the ground and nowhere to go forward as the ewes f@cked off back up the hill. Spent 20 minutes digging out rocks to be able to drive forward and get the tow bar off the ledge.

Walking ewes and lambs is a thankless task at the best of times.
