Poachers in Dorset? Surely they’ll be sentenced to transportation at the very least.

Yes, although long haul voyages with captives shackled in chains and fed only bread and water is very much frowned upon now, so these days we tend to just shove convicts into the boot of a Taxi and have them dumped in Cornwall instead. The effect is much the same. Normally by the end of the journey they are too weak to run far and the locals soon eat em up.
