County 1474

I see one just sold at auction, nicely reconditioned....

200K🤷‍♂️
I don’t get the logic of that purchase. Yes it’s a classic. Yes it was in mint condition but how is it ever going to increase in value further? There’s been a number of high profile collections sold over the last few years because it’s mostly an older generation thing. Is there the number of youngsters interested enough to ultimately pay more for that tractor making it a sound investment for the new owner 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

No, it’s only nostalgic to that generation,

in 20 years time the value will drop like a stone as no one will want them as it means nothing to them

I agree with this. Will be 6000 series deeres etc that will be big Money in the future. 20 years ago it was grey Fergie’s and they are worth hardly anything now

Perhaps the buyer just wanted it not looking at it in a financial sense.
People buy new motor homes at over a £100k but in ten year time they
will have lost most of the value.

its very nice when you have bought something, tractor, painting, watch etc, had the enjoyment, use out of it, and it has gained in value massively, an example recently on the bbc antique road show, two watches, one was a rolex bought by a american gi, stationed in germany in the early 1960s paid about i think 26 us dollars valued at over 20,000 pounds, other was an omega apollo space series watch? but one thing above all these tractors, cars, watches, etc etc thats allways been in the past and the future, the best investment of all, is property, whever its land houses or what? seems dear today but in 10 years time? Renting long term is not the way to do it?
