Did spray with elatus about 10 days ago.
Will have to go again with something soon prob.whats best product for mildew??
Elatus won't touch Downy Mildew.

The only fungicide with approval (EAMU) for controlling Downy Mildew in beans is SL567A/Clayton Tine (other brands might be available). Full rate is 0.16 l/ha but many will apply at lower rates e.g. 0.125 - 0.15 l/ha to balance cost and efficacy. Threshold for treatment is when 25% of plants are showing symptoms.

If Downy Mildew has got going and is spreading you are probably too late for the Phosphite option. Weather turning hotter and dry middle of the month and this will also suppress the Downy Mildew (although not fully eradicate it).

Never had to treat Winter Beans for Downy Mildew before but some crops (thick, large biomass ones) definitely exceeding threshold this year and requiring specific treatment…. Other crops have low levels of disease and I am hoping hot/dry weather will be sufficient and not planning to treat.

I remember SL567A being £900 for a 5 litre can some 20 years ago

Not planning on treating with anything or for mildew?
Will do a mix for Chocolate Spot/Rust but ignore Downy Mildew if disease is absent or below 25% infection levels (might put a phosphite product in if its feels like the right thing to do at the time).

If no Chocolate Spot (or rust) present at the moment then happy to delay treatment for time being…. Later the first fungicide is applied means chances of second fungicide being required reduces.
