Renting for Polytunnels

Hi there
I'm looking to rent a small area, probably no more than half and acre, to erect a couple of commercial polytunnels. to grow chillis, peppers etc. Not sure how much would be a decent rent... I'd also want to put 3-4 100 litre water containers, to collect rain water. Unless the land has a supply i could tap into and obviously contribute towards. The idea is to sell at markets, farmers markets car boot etc.

Anyone got an idea as to a decent rental amount... South Northamptonshire.

I was about to place a vey similar ad but for land in Central or South Bucks. I need land plus water storage for about 30 metres of polytunnel. I can erect the tunnel myself, but id there is an existing one with the covering in good condition i may be interested in that. I would also like a degree of secure access as I may install solar poered equipment for early season lighting and security lighting etc, as one or more workers may be female and their safety when accessing and working at hours of darkness in jan feb etc is critical. Close to road is useful as access would be for flatbed truck at times and usually by 4x4 vehicle and trailer only, no tractor or tracked vehicles. Inspection when growth is underway is welcomed andencouraged. Peppers, culinary herbs and peppers would be the produce. Possibly one section heated for some plants esp early months. Space for a secure equipment/fertilsiser/pesticide storage shed is ideal.

Please message or reply with annual rental costs, and water supply, and of site inspection is available. Good luck to you too, Coreservers :)

I live in Northants and had a large glasshouse near Harborough for a while. My top tip is to cycle around the county looking for abandoned greenhouses or polytunnels and then ask the landowner if you can take them over, or add one next to them. The advantage is they have everything set up and the water and electricity in place.
Negotiate not to pay rent for the first year as you will be adding value to their land. Plus you need to make sure you are up for the challenge.

Hi

I have two tunnels and a potting shed. The tunnels are both 18m x4m and the shed is dilapidated 9m x4m. I have a borehole electric etc.

Unfortunately a business can’t be run from the land but would be ideal for a hobby grower or tge like.
I was asking 600 per month based in south Norfolk near Bungay

I want to rent out a polytunnel previously used for livestock. Has electric and water. How much could I ask per month?

Just to add to my last post, I have small horticulture business that needs more growing space.
This is my 3rd year although I have been in the trade for a long time and know my market inside and out.
I have plenty of scope to expand and am willing to pay well upfront for the right location.

I potentially have a spare Polytunnel, 15m * 12m.
On agricultural land so not a problem for commercial growing.
Has water and power.
Gated and remote site with vehicle access.
Located in Essex.
Not sure how much rent I could charge?

Also, have any other farmers had issues with renting space to tenants?
