@Cowcorn how much you feeding at grass? Nobody else on here will tell me.
At the minute 3 kilo to all .
When the weather settles down and the grass supply is more even i might drop a kilo but probably not !!!
As long as a kilo of meal is cheaper than a litre of milk you cant really lose
The few pound of meal at grass kept the cow right and was a cheap vet my late father reckoned and as i get older i realise he was right about that as he was about most things ,

It depends who you're working for?:D

It's a fair bit of meal, but it depends on your cows' potential. High yielding holsteins can soon turn into skeletons if you're not feeding them.
There not high yeilding holstiens. More middle of the road cows. Mabe pull a kilo off them this mornin and see how yeild goes

They're saying 20l from grass at the minute, then feed 1kg for every 2.5l above this.

30l = 20l from grass + 10 from nuts ( 10 divided by 2.5 = 4} or off their backs
40l = 20l from grass + 20 from nuts =8kgs

but will you get 20l from grass on a cold wet day?

You can adjust them a kilo here and there, but may not see it in production at this time, as the excess protein in the grass drives them on regardless. It's what happens to fertility and condition over the summer is the question.

It's all a big secret,we're feeding a snake in the parlour and a shake in the tmr, I'd say its a brave bit but I don't know,I'm not there
Guess 2.5kg through tmr, 4 to 6 in parlour, if I was starting again I'd certainly have a feed to yield packing in, too late now
