I believe it has been to purchase training and equipment for rural fire stations for conducting grain bin rescues due to the number of deaths.
And so graciously donated some youtube money if he gets to "x amount of subscribers " . Meaning he's earning more money anyway. Don't believe any of it comes from his own real world farm earnt pocket.....

Yes that's it.
A very American way of doing things, identify a problem then spend a fortune on emergency services kit to attend the aftermath, instead of investing money on education and equipment to prevent the problem in the first place.

God don't the two Aussies love the sound of their own voices. Local tractor run raised 4k for suicide prevention last Sunday.

meh . . .
So what ?
how EXACTLY did that pissy little 4K help to prevent suicide ?
Seriously, I’d be interested to know.
As someone who has worked in the funeral industry & has had to pick up suicide victims after the event, as someone who has literally had the barrel in my mouth on a few occasions myself, as someone who has friends who lost parents, partners or children through suicide, I’d REALLY be interested to know how that 4K helped prevent it happening.
Or is it just ANOTHER excuse to drive slow, unsuitable vehicles on public roads, when they dont really need to be there ?

For your information, been lots of money spent over the years educating people on the dangers of entering grain bins.

What equipment do the farmers in your part of the world have to prevent grain bin fatalities?

I'm not sure why you need to be in them when they are full?
Technically you probably need, working at heights and confined space permits, which require all the safety gear and in the case of confined spaces at least two people + equipment but generally I think you'd only be in there when they're nearly empty, at least that's my experience.
Grain isn't a huge crop round here so on farm bins are fairly small, the commercial stores/processors will have all kinds of procedures and risk assessments.
All the unguarded shafts, belts and pulleys you see on the likes of Millennial farmers channel would certainly get you in trouble especially if there was an accident. Our H&S laws got an update a few years ago and are pretty strict.

Ok,the pissy amount of money from our local tractor runs go to the DPJ Foundation which is a counciling service founded by a local farmers wife that found her husband’s bod after he sadly committed suicide, they offer help and support to those with any number of mental help issues, whether it’s suicidal thoughts or general self hate etc. they fund full time counciling and have a number to call day or night for a chat.
Obviously a man of your intelligence understands that a full time councillor dose not come for free,so that’s where the money and donations go to fund.

I highly doubt they're struggling in "one " sector. (ag). Anyone that can indulge in motor racing has plenty of money to burn. If they needed to survive a downturn surely those toys would be the first to go.
I never said they are struggling. Diversification is best done before disaster strikes. Not saying it will, or that is even their idea, but I for one think it is wise to not put all my eggs in one basket. That just could be because I am mediocre at best at pretty much everything I do but hey.
It sounds like that to you, a farmer is only a farmer when he is struggling.

The thing with these channels is that they will run there course. How many times can you make the same planting and harvesting videos year after year look interesting ?? Plus there will be new comers to take there place. I for one wouldn't want to pin my income "diversity " on feeble social media.... This was evident during lockdowns when a few influencers had no companies offering them things to promote .

I get what you're saying about certain things becoming repetitive but in my opinion some of the best larson farms videos are when they basically achieve nothing in the workshop for a day. If they manage to make those videos appealing they should be OK for content.

See the millenial farmer and larsons have been hit by some crazy winds, tornados in that area. Millenial farmer is missing his cold machinery shed and a grain bin!
