Yep do that first and find out what the access agreement says just to make sure you're in the right, then you can go after them.
Was there a gate when you bought the land? Does the track part even belong to you?

Yes and not sure are the answers after the corral a similar track turns right and continues a further 200 metres to the 35acre field.

Invoice them, but itemise it all rather than just asking for a lump sum.

I still think a cattle grid and enough space to park a vehicle off the road prior to opening a gate or other barrier would be a good idea. Space to get a lorry off the road before the driver has to move a gate would be useful in the circumstances.
