How wrong? India are not a significant exporter?

Surely a bullish signal for wheat which makes N more affordable for cereal farmers, I suppose?
On Thursday they said they expected India to export 10m tons. On Saturday India banned exports that didn't have licenses. There's now a significant risk of India being an importer of wheat.

The pre war crop predictions for India were for 110+Mt harvest. That's currently slashed to 100 and I've seen suggestions it maybe we'll into the 90s if the heat continues.

It just looks stupid when a respected agency puts a section on page one of its report about India as a key exporter 36 hours before India revises it's whole wheat export policy and program.

Whatever the price of wheat nobody likes to feel ripped off on input prices.
Summers coming, gas prices are falling, new gas supply routes are opening up.
I think fertiliser suppliers are going to have to suck up the reduced profit made on product manufactured during the high blip in gas prices just as farmers are going to have to suck up the inevitable downward correction in grain prices when it does eventually arrive, which it will.
It’s not as if fertiliser suppliers haven’t been making huge profits is it? They’ll need to reduce prices to shift that product and not expect farmers to cushion every perturbation in their gas supply costs.

Urea 720, 40n 14s 740, imported 27n 9s 620

that was last week mind

the bit that wound me up was delivery may to December sellers choice, 28 days to pay thereafter

my reply was if you’ll buy some milk from me at over 40p for sometime in 2024, I’ll choose when you can have it, then we ll talk about it

at the moment without futures for my produce I can’t see that I can buy in unless it’s a lot cheaper than that, I’ve no idea what I’ll get for the output so how can I gamble on inputs?

Your urea price was the least expensive I've seen.
