Soon to be known as the phantom flasher or old Narf’k ...
The phrase up here is "dead crows don't fall out the nest!"Well @Lodekka I just tell'em ” don't panic, the cage door may be open but the beast is asleep!!!!"
Probably more appropriate to spinney!!!The phrase up here is "dead crows don't fall out the nest!"

Nice to see your properly back on formsunday/ monday
two reasonably productive days without me ending up knackered
K came in sunday as her last lambing sunday...not that there was anything doing but i took the opportunity to get on with more pasture topping until 11:30 when i knocked off and went to view some hay locally from somebody moving...26 x 4'6'' bales of nice horse quality stuff at £25/bale...in honesty i probably shoulda haggled a bit more off but there
lunch..sit down then at 3pm .along with boy&mrs spin, we went up the farm and de nailed/sorted/stored some reclaimed pine floorboards neddy wanted rid of .....he's been absolutely no bother during his stay...been quite nice having them TBH
monday
phone rang 7am...it was K...she'd fallen by the wayside having accidently eating something with gluten in it...she has almost as many food allergies as poor old HH....anyhoo admiral and i set to and we did chores by 10am and i was off pasture topping again
we did have one little snottage incident....admiral made a hash driving thru the hurdles twixt field and yard....a posse of snot took full advantage charging around the yard looking for 'plunder'.....fortunately the bucket of fodder beet distracted most and we were able to escape to top of yard and secure our second line of defence despite hurdler 1792 and 'xl' (remember her).....they all wandered off later and i was able to retake yard after lunch
finished pasture topping by lunch and did housework in afternoon
anyhoo....a little conundrum....what would you do?...let us say for example 'somebody' (purely hypothetical) forgot to put a belt on their shorts one morning and whilst en route to an orphan lamb pen.....bucket in each hand....aforementioned shorts start to succumb to gravity.....to lazy to stop/put bucket down the 'somebody' attempted to traverse the last 20 yards by firstly 'widening their gait' hoping a wider stance might help...secondly think 'erotic thoughts' in the hope of a temporary 'tent pole'.... only to be dashed by age....although in fairness the age problem was rebalanced by the 'somebody' not caring about 'letting it all hang out'
so i guess the question is...'in 2022 is it acceptable (again hypothetically) for someone to arrive at an orphan lamb pen with their shorts around their ankles?'
edit....assume clean underpants if it helps the 'calculation'

Nice tale of historical importance.tuesday/wednesday....'OPERATION HAY'
so in between the daily chores the 26 bales of hay have been retrieved using my eclectic little system (smeg c/w rear loader and cs with lowloader) .....the only hiccups 1/ after unloading first load i arrived back at the vendors hay barn to discover i'd hung smegs keys back up indoors instead of the forklifts and thus couldn't start her..mrs spin to the rescue and 2/ being very slow i took smeg backroads the 5 or so miles only to find a road closed 1/2 mile from my destination necessitating a lengthy detour
A BITTERSWEAT TALE OF RURAL DECLINE AND EARLY ROMANCE
the 'back roads' i took with smeg followed part of one of my old school bus routes (the routes changed during my time due to our village being on a boundary twixt holt and coastal runs).....anyhoo my destination was a relatively new smallholding which had bought it's land from an older smallholding next door......our bus had stopped there every day and a girl got on....i took no real notice really as i had a pal and we would be deeply engrossed in matters wargame or chess team ....but i did see that the house had a pretty front garden.... was joined with barns into a square 'horse shoe design' at the back....one day i saw a jersey cow in it....musta been a house cow....we had a house cow ....god i hated it.....off tasting milk 8 months a the year...i used to love it when she was dry and we had shop bought.....the only compensation was a trip to market when she calved for another calf to bucket rear but even then i'd have to sit in back seat of car with it...anyhoo i digress....nowadays the barns joining the house have been converted into two additional dwellings and the yard a bijou courtyard....i preffered it with the cow tbh
the new smallholding was built as a pig farm by a builders son who was also a good footballer......little plumber (osf hubby) knew all about it and the place is actually only about 500yds from osf parents farm.....even my 'untrained piggy farm eye' could see it was really well thought out and everything nicely built....it hasn't been a pig farm for 14 years though... i don't know what happened but it was sold and turned to equestrian purposes,,,,those owners are now moving on and hence the hay sale....despite not seeing a pig for those years the buildings could largely be used again without trouble....well maintained and still plumbed with nipple drinkers....i admit to being a little sad it's not still a little pig farm but i guess 'that's progress' .....i just hope life worked out for the lad who built it as he put a lot of effort in
rewind to christmas 1982....i'd spent first autumn on my pre college farm and mu'ad dib was back home after a first term at lampeter uni......we hired a barn in blakeney and had a big joint party (no invites just spread the word).....during the 'festivities' the girl who used to get on the bus at the smallholding and was now in last year of sixth form came up to me and kissed me ........after that we started going out but once i started at harper and her at southampton uni the problems started....her new friends regarded me as some 'country boy thicko' cos i was only doing hnd ....it didn't bother her but it did me and eventually we split up after about 18 months......i did run into her years later and she seemed happily married with loads of kids so i guess it worked out for both of us.....at the time of the party the future mrs spin had just finished her first term at high school (yr7)
