And many, many, many hours ofplayingsetting said kit up talk to each part properly!!
Which can be fun, and 10-15 years ago I was happy to do so, but now, I prefer something nearer "plug and play"!
For comparison price wise with tractor gps etc. what minimum is required to get this ap up and running as fertiliser lightbar guidance please? You can fit a full RTK autosteer system for £1200-1500 with AgOpenGPS. Section control, automated headland turns etc...
What I would like to suss out, is the cheapest way to build/buy/setup a permanent Base station for use with NTRIP. RTK2Go maybe...A fair comment. Just asking where a farmer makes more money spending (quite) a few hours? AOG is not for everyone but I bet if AOG did not exist (and wasn't as popular as it is), we would not see these Chinese products with a relatively attractive price (relative to main brands).

WTH the Govt don't force the Ordnance Survey to make their signal open, like happens all over Europe and the US?

Yes. 100% correct. However, myself as an ex software programmer turned to farmer, I went to John Deere SF 3000 (bit outdated) + GS2 1800 (bit outdated too) + ATU 300.You can fit a full RTK autosteer system for £1200-1500 with AgOpenGPS. Section control, automated headland turns etc...

It cost me one arm and one leg and although I would have the required knowledge to install and tweak AgOpenGPS, I truly hate anything different than ATU 300 steering motor. That thing is self calibrating and it's just so good feels almost integrated.
Other than that I used Teejet Matrix 430 display for visual guidance for 5 years and although I find it a bit small and outdated to today's standard it's still so damn easy to use and provides decent accuracy for 24M spraying/fert.
