Varioguide and drill overlap/gap.

Hi,

I have a 3 meter Rapid that i run on a Fendt 516 with RTK. I measured the width of the machine from outer disc to outer disc to 288 cm, so that leaves 6 cm on each to to the next pass for a total of 12 cm between passes. I tried measuring as i drilled, but clearly i havent been careful, because i now see that the machine is pulling 4-5 cm to the left. That leaves an overlap on the left side, and a gap on the right (the gap is abount 20 cm, so 4 cm too much to he left on each pass). Running 3 meter waylines, but the machine going 4 cm off to the left, how do i adjust that setting-wise? Do i use the centre-distance for the rapid-implement-setting? 1,54 m here would be correct?

You probably know, but best way to set it is drive down field and measure 50cm from outside Coulter. Can be any distance.

Turn round and come back again then measure again. Adjust until distance is the same going both ways.

Do. AB line with tractor on own.. DROP pickup hook on concrete and see if it marks same both ways if not put offset in to suit
Sorry but thats wrong. If you do as you say and the marks are in different places then you have an issue with your tractor. Sort that out first. The measure in field with drill and measure location of drill on pass to pass of drill marks

that's what I did first

I use RangePoint rtx it's around 5cm real accuracy. I set my rapid to 2.98m pass and it looks basically perfect

4m rapid here always need 4-6 cm offset. I keep the drill at 4m width. It does change depending on conditions. That’s with 3 different Fendt tractors, all rtk.

@shakalakka just adjust the centre to outside width. Give it a couple of turns to sort itself then measure again. It’s a pain digging for seed but I think the best way as you see the effect the soil has on the drill.
