No pheasants from France

Just had an email from the Countryside Alliance, which confirmed some things I had been hearing, that pheasant chicks can't be imported into the UK this year. There is a local game rearer who normally has 1,000s and employs quite a few people during the summer months so I'm not sure what they will do now.

How convenient for the anti shooting lobby with the ear of similarly minded DEFRA employees in positions of influence.
Difficult to shoot game birds if there are none.

In the late 80s and 90s I reared pheasant and partridge. Got blown out the water by imported birds so packed it in.
anybody see any parallels!
