Mines all bought weeks ago, Urea Polysulphate and begrudgingly a small amount of Nitram to go with the carried over stock

Sludge, chicken muck straw chopping and fym to go with it to mean no P+K bought in again
Buying early was right last year and unless the world sorts its self out very quickly, it’s looking right again, plus I’d rather have it on farm atm

Full cover here now, 1 1/2 loads in stock @£288,

needed another load for full cover so when CF opened the book the second time at £715 I rang a merchant and booked a load of urea at £740

Kept back 50% of this years to run into next year. That combined with a shift to 100% spring cropping and some biological N takes us out of the equation. Well that’s the plan at the moment anyway.

Nope. Going to actually see what price we get this harvest. Spring cropping anyway so no rush.
You still haven’t explained what’s happened to £4.50/kg nitrogen you were so sure it was going to be a few weeks ago?
Urea is about £1.59, pretty good return on futures prices. That’s £582/ha difference in your budget…

Spring cropping wheat definitely does not help BG but no the main reason is risk. I’m not prepared to subsidise food production so going down the least risky option.

. Plenty of suggestions on social saying N could open up at £1250/t. It hasn’t opened at that but will it climb to it?
