Pretty sure for the first time ever I’m fully legal now so aslong as they pull me on my way out of market I’ll not mind stopping for a chatMake sure your trailers and trucks are all in order as the Police pulled in dozens of them on Monday in Exeter just outside the market and hauled them off to Vosa's yard and found faults with nearly every single one of them!
Even found some so called faults with a brand new pick up that only left the showroom last week !
What a load of bullocks.FFS .......
Dear Woodheads supplier,
In recognition of the great work being done by so many of you already on our Net Zero programme, we are today announcing a new ‘Sustainable Beef and Lamb Scheme’ for farmers. Participating farms will be asked to measure their carbon footprint by our carbon consultant company Map of Ag, test the health of their soils, audit their farm’s biodiversity, and monitor both resources and waste on their farms on an annual basis - and then develop resulting action plans.
We’re working with Red Tractor to assess the programme under their new ‘Environment’ module. This means that any accreditation you get can be used by you for any customer - not just Morrisons. We’re also going to cover the cost of accreditation from Red Tractor in the first year as part of the programme.
But that’s not all: we’re also going to be unveiling a list of free advice from trusted experts you can access as well as discounts on products and services available to farmers who are accredited on the programme.
And we’re starting to offer payment premiums for sustainable beef: this will launch with Morrisons contracted dairy beef suppliers, where a 10p/kg premium will be paid for any cattle finishing under 18 months’ old on a sustainable diet, who are also part of our net zero agriculture programme. We’ll also be extending premiums for suckler and store finisher cattle in the months to come.
We’ll be in touch in the coming weeks with full details about the standard, how you can take part, and importantly, how you can access the incentive packages that go with this.
We know that getting to net zero through sustainable farming is a challenge, but we want to continue to work with you to champion great British food from farms we know and trust.
Kind regards
Woodheads Livestock Team

We'll have to get our own back and start sending beef over there!Irish on about giving retailers notice that farmers will need €7.50/kg (£6.37) this winter for beef otherwise its going to be a waste of time especially when beef rations could be £500/t.
You jest, but it's happened before. A good lot goes over to be cut between slaughter and sale here. We'll have to get our own back and start sending beef over there!
No we are ok. I had one done three years ago we buy everything in, haulage inward doesn’t count! Our score was very low, I sell the muck so that doesn’t count in the calculation either, not like if you spread it on your own land. Intensive farming is the future it appearsWhat a load of tripe, we’ve had something very similar done by our land lord, I’ve got one tractor, everything outwintered, forage crops, all dog an stick, an they said I’m producing 300 tonne of carbon, they blame it on the cows mostly!! So if I’m no good then feck knows what the intensive beef finishers will be up against!! Just another way to put your arm up your back
Yep and i would add if they want you to do all the above they are asking then the extra payment needs to be £1 a kilo and not a measly 10ppk.Dear Woodheads Livestock Team,
Thankyou for your kind letter but i am going to sell them live in the nearest market from now on and all this carbon nonsense can jog on.
Kind regards
