I liked the look of that bull, it would be cheap
Nearly popped down to try and buy it but had a car to buy this morning and been on like @livestock 1 bolus cows, trimming feet, dehorning calves and turning out .
Some on here wont know the feeling but when its nearly june you do think your cows should be outside!
Fair bull like.
Were all the same only just got the autumn calves out yesterday.

Yes lambing gets over and these cattle aren’t just ready to turn out they seem to need umpteen jobs doing to them before you can open the door. We’ve had a good spell today with them. Had three of us on seemed to be in a rhythm today just about got there after a week of it and some of last week too
Yes, gets a bit frustrating when folk say have you got your cows out yet... it isnt just a case of opening the door!
Yeah we've had 3 of us on today, about bossed it now.
Plenty other spring jobs need doing, thats the trouble. ...but then your 'wasting' time still feeding and mucking cows out!

Don’t worry mine went out ages ago and now they’re all back in for 5 days for testing. They weren’t best pleased! Sat waiting on one calving now…looks like it’ll need the vink on it

What a load of tripe, we’ve had something very similar done by our land lord, I’ve got one tractor, everything outwintered, forage crops, all dog an stick, an they said I’m producing 300 tonne of carbon, they blame it on the cows mostly!! So if I’m no good then feck knows what the intensive beef finishers will be up against!! Just another way to put your arm up your back
Honestly im to the point they can all fecking starve, il build on our yard (in a desirable village) and rent the rest out to dog walking fields and horses.
Iv two lads. What fecking future is this we are walking into.

My lad was on reckoning up the other day which jobs to prioritise which is always difficult here especially in May we still had over 100 cattle inside of one description or another I said it would be better to get some more out instead of cleaning sheds out and carting silage about daily
I know it’s not a lot to some folks but it is up here especially after lambing, hoggs, store cattle and the rest

May is as hard a month as lambing almost, it usually takes us till about 5th june before we feel as though weve caught up, cattle out, lambs dosed etc.

We usually have a ride up the coast around this time of year up what they call the costal scenic route (can’t actually see anything of the coast on this road)
Last time we did this everyone was tired but I insisted we went one Sunday drove up there with everyone asleep got somewhere near Bednall I think tried to get them out the car but they were twisty or snoozing or both so I had a walk about for half an hour and went home again I don’t think anyone was interested or knew where we had been

This week is a killer for me. Sheared 1350 hoggs first 4 days, dose vacc and clik 750 late lambs today, now going off to drop 35 acres of grass for baling on Sunday. I really could do with some staff on these weeks.

Dear Woodheads supplier,

In recognition of the great work being done by so many of you already on our Net Zero programme, we are today announcing a new ‘Sustainable Beef and Lamb Scheme’ for farmers. Participating farms will be asked to measure their carbon footprint by our carbon consultant company Map of Ag, test the health of their soils, audit their farm’s biodiversity, and monitor both resources and waste on their farms on an annual basis - and then develop resulting action plans.

We’re working with Red Tractor to assess the programme under their new ‘Environment’ module. This means that any accreditation you get can be used by you for any customer - not just Morrisons. We’re also going to cover the cost of accreditation from Red Tractor in the first year as part of the programme.

But that’s not all: we’re also going to be unveiling a list of free advice from trusted experts you can access as well as discounts on products and services available to farmers who are accredited on the programme.

And we’re starting to offer payment premiums for sustainable beef: this will launch with Morrisons contracted dairy beef suppliers, where a 10p/kg premium will be paid for any cattle finishing under 18 months’ old on a sustainable diet, who are also part of our net zero agriculture programme. We’ll also be extending premiums for suckler and store finisher cattle in the months to come.

We’ll be in touch in the coming weeks with full details about the standard, how you can take part, and importantly, how you can access the incentive packages that go with this.

We know that getting to net zero through sustainable farming is a challenge, but we want to continue to work with you to champion great British food from farms we know and trust.

Kind regards
Woodheads Livestock Team
Anyone going along with that sh!t needs their brains examined and their arse kicked to kingdom come and back again .
