Isuzu Dmax Regen

Didn’t think of that, they were chasing Isuzu when I left them.
So I’m guessing they’ve tested the 2 sensor on the dpf and their not faulty 🤔

have they checked egr valve and egr cooler do you know?
Also when the oil is changed the oil dilution figure should be reset and can only be done by an isuzu dealer laptop (it’s different to the service light)
Some say the oil dilution factor can upset the regen frequency although others say it means nothing at all (so why is it on there 🤔)

when I started having problems I got a long email from isuzu, they’d looked up my vehicles history and criticised the services had been done over schedule (I’d only just bought the vehicle so that wasn’t helpful)
They criticised it hadn’t done many milea between November and April (I bought it in April). They recommend not purchasing lower quality supermarket fuel (I’d only just bought it and didn’t intend to).
They really didn’t help much but luckily crawfords is close by and my work tractor is from them and Iv found crawfords extremely helpful fault finding and diagnosing so atleast I could get to the cause of the problem.

No, still waiting, £1400 plus the vat, not covered by warranty!
If I’m honest £1400 wasn’t as bad as I was expecting but I’m sure that doesn’t help.
Have you considered deleting the dpf? I’m not keen on it because my mot tester expects the government to take a dim view of sabotaging emissions systems and are developing a way of testing apparently and if they do how many people will have to reinstate their egr/dpf etc or have an unroadworthy vehicle 🤔

No, calling the dealer tomorrow to see when the dpf is coming.
Hi trev did you ever get an outcome on this?
My regens are back around the 30-40 mark again.
No error codes or eml lights.
According to the dealer the injectors (2new and 2 original) are still in tolerance.
Iv cleaned the egr valve and that seems functional.
Iv had the dpf disconnected and a friend blew his diving bottles through it, we got some grey ash out and since it’s got more power. But I believe the dpf to be clear and doesn’t look disintegrated inside.
A guy on fb was told his tubes from the dpf to the pressure sensor was blocked and causing his problems. Iv checked my tubes to the sensor and they’re clear.
I may buy a differential sensor and try that.
I could buy the dpf temperature sensor and try that.

good trucks but these frequent regens issues is becoming a bit of a headache.

Sort of, I’ve removed the inners of the dpf and remapped it.
Dpf set up is rubbish on these and the newer ones, but they also suffer with injectors a bit.

If the dps tubes are blocked , split or otherwise not right, itll stop regenning altogether, and the dpf will block if you keep driving. The fact that it's almostly constantly needing to self clean dictates the engine is making lots of soot i.e poor combustion, and in the case of this engine, youve most likely got shagged injectors, stuck open thermostat, or the egr stuck open , or a boost leak, in that order of likelhood. Fix whichever applies.

Dealer said my injectors were fine, it was just dpf, blamed it on not doing long enough journeys, not sure how they know what journeys I do!
