We have a bearing gone in the idler gear in the bed of the 8550 , it looks like the whole bed has to be opened , any tips on what’s the handiest way to do it, it is hard to see how to drop the complete bed out , I’ve done Kv and pottinger before but this looks more awkward , any tips on how to drop out the bed .

Yes whole bed has to come out all discs and skids off, i have rebuilt them in a long day with help but as they get older bolts snap or dont come off easy so 2 days really, change all the idler bearings. The only way to remove the bearing is to press them out and the bearing smashes up as there is a snap ring on the outside of the bearing holding it into the gear but it will only work in one direction as the wrong way explodes the gear instead
