What is going on in the last two pics as regards crops , and what is the lady doing.
Great pics thanks for posting. When ever I open a pack of veg with Kenya on it I always wonder if could have possibly come from your farm.
What season of the year would it be in Kenya now,( spring, summer, autumn, winter)
Thanks

They are actually weeding cabbages. We don't use many herbicides and rely on interrow cultivation and hand labour plus it's the rainy season at present. We don't really have seasons though Jan,Feb,March are hot and dry April and May wet. Then June and July cool and damp. August and September then get hotter leading to rain in October and November which ends in December as it gets hotter again. We get around 24 inches of rain a year but it can be as low as 16 or up to 40. Temperatures go up to 32 degrees C and as low as 8 at night. We never get frost and the sun will shine everyday. And its more or less 12 hours light and 12 hours dark because we are about half a degree off the equator.

So today was Syca-no-more, apparently they are toxic to horses so needed to go.

First time ever felling a tree, don’t think I did a bad job especially as the tree was leaning the other way towards my neighbours chickencoop. Have realised that my £50 Screwfix electric chainsaw works but need to upgrade to a battery one as the cord was very annoying at times. At least its a couple of days heating this winter once I get it all split and dried.

Its the seeds that are deadly ,,lass in the village lost two horses the same day ,,the seeds had landed in a water trough ,,both ingested them and over night they both die .
The vet did and autopsy and both died from the toxins in the seeds ,not sure if it was arsenic or cyanide from the fermentation in the stomach .
