There was a couple South African members on here. @Dian LandmanLess now that the kids aren't in school and since Dad died . About three times a year.
We had a visitor from South Africa whose family farmed in the Congo there were 15 families who have been there for over a 100 years. He showed some amazing pictures of the most beautiful farms in a valley, fantastic crops and cattle they had a fleet of new John Deere tractors and combines it looked like a farming paradise but it was miles from anywhere in a totally lawless country. However they were making a very very good living. I want to send my son to Zimbabwe as there's plenty of opportunities there but the truth of it is you don't want to be putting a lot of money into these places you want to be renting and borrowing as much as you can so if you have to walk away you can.
My friend there in South Africa is part of a very large family operation. They recently sold everything they owned to the government and leased back while simultaneously buying property along the orange river and looking to Botswana as an exit plan. The land has no value due to ongoing land claim politics
Very very hardcore boer. I don’t think they will ever leave South Africa. It was to the point they had bought out nearly every neighbor around who had given up/been attacked and left.
I’d maybe be up for an African venture if anyone is looking for a partner. Given the right circumstances
