Hi, just wondering if anyone has priced up solar recently? I have had a quote for a 57.6kW array to go on a shed roof to off-set own use (Chickens) come in at around £54,000 + VAT for full installation. Can anybody compare to this at all? I had a quote for the same array 6 months ago and it has gone up horrendously since, wish I did it then. So I want to make sure my price is comparable for my own peace of mind!

Thanks in advance.

100kw was £73k in 2020. Simple install on a nearly new poultry shed. ie scaffolding was only a safety rail and a couple of platforms to put pallets of panels on. There is/was a good capacity cable within easy reach of the inverters also.
Money well spent, although I did not enjoy lifting the pallets of panels onto the platforms.

Not had a very recent quote for a large array but the installers can name their price today as they are so busy. I would recommend ringing round a bit , that does sound a lot compared to a small quote I had last month. You do not mention roof type as installers are becoming very shy of older asbestos type roofs also scaffolding costs are another name their price job

The prices have increased due to production issues and demand. As ever with a shortage the price increase.
that price does not souyn d that goold to me as you have to inlude the mounting rails scaffolding wire and fitters

I am thinking off a 10kw what sort off cost now
Ive been quoted £19k for a 10kw system that includes a 13kw Tesla battery. Its expensive but prices are going up. The company has actually stopped taking bookings because they are so busy.
Im taking the view that expensive energy is here to stay.

got a quote off 5.2 k for a 5.2kw system as that’s all I am aloud to fit by the power company otherwise you need planning before they help

You do not normally need planning for a roof mount unless it is listed property. DNO permission will be needed normally over 4Kw but this is usually just a simple request and costs nothing

Hi @Big Eddy C
Bit late to this but hopefully you haven't committed at that price. We're installing plenty of solar on poultry units at an average £650/kWp fully installed, scaffolding, generator auto disconnect, DNO approval, the lot. So 57.6kWp would be £37,500+VAT

That's June 2022 prices

Using Trina Solar 400W panels and Solis inverters

If you'd like to talk further I'm at [email protected]
