Does anyone have any tips for a new worshop air main? We are looking to move the compressor out of earshot and need to pipe the air to where it is needed. Is Sharkbite air worth the money? Tips please!

Thank you all. Think I will go with proper air pipe as 20bar rated rather than 12. We may upgrade at a later stage to a higher pressure air compressor so would like to be covered for the future. Local bearing place also does John Guest so have a ready supplier!

I put in a Transair system - aluminium pipe - from Kiowa Ltd. It was my lockdown "project" about 21 months ago.

25mm system rated to 16 bar and it looks exactly like the John Guest pipework - different fittings, obviously. I liked the rigid pipe as I was fitting the system into an old farm building and I could fit long lengths with few fittings. Used threaded bar into the wall and I could adjust each fitting to keep the pipes straight. I didn't want alkathene sagging along the wall.

Company was really easy to deal with and agreed a significant discount below the online prices.

It is size of pipe you need for flow, not higher pressure ands the bigger the better. It not only gives far better flow rate it will also act as a reservoir.
Water pipe pipe rated at 12 bar is actually rated with a 24 bar burst pressure.
A 50mm pipe holds about 2 litres per metre
