Most efficient way to combine a large triangular field?

As technology has moved on, I assume that with the latest GPS self steering systems, one can set the combine up so that one is only cutting full header widths pretty well all the time, rather than ending up with very narrow width to finish a land
when marking out using tramlines.
I haven't driven a combine for 30 years, when I was then I used to run the wobble box up the tram line to open up bouts in the field.

I’ve never done the maths to work out why but with our 18ft header on 24m tramlines, if you send the wobble box up one of the tramlines to strike out, you will end up with either one side or the other of the header straight up a tramline, or come directly in the middle of the tramline, all the way across the field, both sides of the strike out.

Having just rowed up some hay in small triangle shaped fields I can tell you progress seemed much quicker doing the middle straight than when I was going round doing the headland. As previously said when the triangle starts to get small it just becomes a pain.

full width all day with gps, usually do one miss one on short work then work back, headlands start on 2nd run then go till tank is 50% full then come back to gate on first run then unload on 3rd run therefore never stopping to unload. Some fields if I can get all the way around I will but this is quite rare , gps is far much More useful than driving straight, I use the swath count for working out trailers so we know who needs to comeback and who can fetch the header trailer 👍
