dairy farmer here , not a flat field straight, hedge on the farm , all ready have a patchwork blackbox, cant drive straight for love nor money even with the patchwork :ROFLMAO:, also find it slow and not very accurate on banks/slopes. mainly used on fertiliser spinner, sprayer and occasionally mowing (front/back) to "try" and create less short work.

which system would be better suited for me? because if i had one that steered the tractor then it would get used a lot more, eg.. slurry, rolling, harrowing and make every thing far more efficient .
Same here I use a Trimble 250 and it’s hard work but better than nothing,I had Fendt autosteer on my 724 and it was excellent, even on hills and wooded areas.

Well I've had FJD since this winter through @ERH Services Ltd and I can vouch that it is spot on, including yesterday on a steep side hill. I suppose the only knock is I wouldn't fancy swapping it round tractors all the time but for that level of accuracy that is a fair trade off.

We have a Trimble GFX 750 with RTK would either the Fieldbee or FDJ systems match up with this on other tractors. I am loath to get more Trimble equipment because of the cost.

I am ordering the new Powersteer + Tablet from Fieldbee for golf course work, seems an affordable system. I hope it does a good job on low speed work, with a curved AB Line.

I just pre-ordered this off Fieldbee today, delivery is 6/7 months away but I can wait when there's a big discount :giggle:

Have you used any of their stuff before?

I was looking at it today and had a call from a chap in Amsterdam confirming it would fit my old tractor

No, I thought it looked good and then the feedback in this thread gave me the confidence to give it a go. Fitting looks pretty handy compared to the likes of a full blown Topcon system.

what was your reasoning for going for the field bee over the fjd, if you don't mind me asking?

I have the older system, this offer is on new simpler kit, its all RTK unlocked out of the box, but you either need one of their base stations or some other base station to give yourself RTK level correction signals, or you subscribe to a service.

I get 12cm accuracy from free to air services, but its not repeatable every time you turn it on and off it will move your location, the base station setup can remove that. you can correct for it the software has the ability to move your AB lines to your current position, just line up the tractor as close as possible to the next bout and edit the AB line to read that you are on the AB line and set off. or set a small overlap to make sure you have no gap.

I also ordered the base kit from this offer.

notes, extra wire looms and anti rotation brackets, are about 400euro for the pair. these can then be installed on any tractor you intend to put the system on, so its quick to move from tractor to tractor.

if you want to boost accuracy, and stability, a wheel angle sensor for the new kit runs 600 euro's (the old system they were 1500 euro's)
wheel angle sensors are common on more expensive systems they give the system direct feedback so its less likely to over correct, I will also be getting one for the main tractor I fit this kit onto.

if the new kit still allows for a switch to activate or deactivate the auto steer, then any momentary switch will do mine was from amazon about £9.
the same for foot switches etc. its not clear if these will be supported or not.

my tractor was a MF 5465 it had multiple places I could add this switch into the dashboard. I did chop and rewire the plug they had wired to the harness as it was odd ball and just put on a standard water proof connector instead.

I was also told the harness for the base kit in the offer is the same as for the top kit that uses the angle sensor and extra receiver, and that old receivers like mine can be used to make this system work at the super slow ground speeds, or just add more accuracy and stability.

The FJD system will be just as accurate as your RTK with Trimble.
