I commented to @onesiedale earlier that if it had been an NFU speaker instead of me on the stage I suspect they would have just agreed with the 3 MPs that grants for even more technology are an excellent plan....
Such cynicism....
I've been to agricultural events /shows & gatherings across France, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, UK, NZ, Aus & USA ----county shows & village fetes to international symposiums ---
But Groundswell has to be the best ---

Sure thing that Georgie Boy kept wittering on about Bozo's bloody vertical farming and greenhouses... WTF that has to do with anyone at Groundswell escapes me!
And no one said that their Sheep variety, was the best thing since sliced bed!! Even the nice lady on the RBST stand could see the advantage in a shedding Rare Breed....

There was an impromptu shower at the rainfall simulator today. Could have done with over spraying a bigger area though so that people moved back even further and then all would see.Showers died on Wed night too....

..........the odd accidental cross we've had between a Lincoln and a Shedder has been interesting (although, at times, a touch on the 'messy' side).....
Haven't missed a Groundswell yet. 2 great days of 1) learning that you're doing some things right and 2) discovering all the other things you could be trying to do things even better. Camping excellent ( were my son and I the only people sleeping in a traditional 40 year old ridge tent). As always some very good speakers we wanted to hear and many we also heard who were equally enlightening. Beer, cider, food etc all highly rated. A mere post on this forum can't really express my thanks to the Cherry family, supporters, locals, etc. who put on this magnificent event.

The food worked much better this year. Even at peaks the queues were reasonable.

Really enjoyed it.
There's some clever and thoughtful people out there. Particularly enjoyed listening to Seth Itzkan, Ben McDonald and Merlin Sheldrake who all taught me something new.
Dwayne Beck and Greg Judy taught me something I knew a bit of before but heard again and learnt a bit more.
Wasn't bothered about hearing Monbiot, I don't think he has the right argument. Bit of a shame to miss a few speakers but I still don't think you should change it so speakers speak twice as it does create a better atmosphere.
Nice to see Niab, rothamsted etc all there with a good presence because "conventional" agriculture is still part of the picture for a while yet and these organisation are a good gateway for some farmers.

Wasn't v well on the Tuesday so had to go to sleep early, so gutted I missed a few beers but thanks to all a Groundswell for a great show.
