If he is like that now you are better off without him. Trouble ahead, look for another.

Took on new lad last year, had 2 face to face interviews after doing rest over phone.

First lad told us all about what he could do, when would he be driving x,y and z? Likes most tractors but NH shite”.

Second lad interested in apprenticeship training scheme, what crops grown, but nervous as no real tractor driving experience.

went with 2nd lad and he’s been great. Currently on the 12,500hr NH T7030. Aircon works, radio works, tractor works, what’s the difference?🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂

old lorry driver used to say “anyone can do the job with new kit, the skill’s in doing the same job with working the older stuff”.

if all someone can see is the reg plate or brand then better without them.

He obviously doesn't need a job that bad but take him on and give him an old inter 885 for a month and say "when you can master that you might get to drive a bigger and newer one " 😊😊

Seriously though you better off with out him !

he is a bloke of 60 not a young whizz
and by sounds of it had cushy job
where he was
i think the word “irrigation “ was the biggest driver , having to get off the seat and do some proper work

Tell him the only thing stopping him getting the job is you don't like the crap car he's driving

He sounds like the same one that the nieghbors had apply ,,he took one look round the yard and asked where the new tractors were,,I think the newest they have is 5 years old ,,the oldest is atleast 40 yrs old but that only comes out in summer with the deep ripper

The only thing that would stop me driving an older tractor is a lack of air conditioning. I would rather have no cab than a hot one 😂

Had a person turn down work as they were not keen to sit on a 58 plate, full suspension, air con cab even though the tractor was sat on a slurry pump not going anywhere 😂😂
