Few settled months let everyone catch breath
Yeap.
we need our processors to survive
Our customers to keep buying and
No uptick in production.
Do you think that the processors will show us the same consideration the next time the price crashes ?
I think not. They were still making good profits when our milk was down to 20p. How many farmers were showing good margins then ?

Reason given for the smaller organic rise?
Unfortunately the early release has meant we have not yet had our teams calls to update all of reps. This is due at 11.30 tomorrow (release should have 12 noon). We should have more information then, but it will basically be based around the returns from the market.

In a cost of living crisis, luxury items get cut out first

My local shop told me that people aren’t buying so much milk now as it’s cheaper in supermarkets or they are decreasing consumption in favour of booze

No accounting for stupid.

I’m not sure others will follow Arla up as they (Arla) will export if they meet a British brick wall. Think we are pretty much at peak price for now

It's will be different for every processor, business model. I'm sure a lack of milk is worse than paying slightly too much.

Interesting point that, the talk of export but not heard anything more.

I know of fresh produce that has been turned away even though previous loads have gone through no problem.

Lack of milk is key.

Our forage stocks are going to be tight as can’t get fert so growing 3rd, 4th and potentially 5th cut on slurry only .. but that can only go so far
The only slurry left here are the sand dredgings, enough for 1 cut. Had poultry manure delivered for 3rd cut, that won’t happen next year with old Drakey’s NVZ/ anti pollution regs.
