New farm, the journey begins!

I bought a new tractor which I’m very proud off, never thought I’d get this far, 7614 mf with loader on 650s and 540s.

cattle yards have been huge project as have done by myself except for concrete. Bout 60% done.

Howdy all, I’ve been busy, still knocking the ranch into shape!! Loving living in Camperdown, still working from home for the mine 4 days a week.
as usual running behind schedule but that’s life, as long as progress is being made.
I take over from lease in November so will level 1/3 of farm and expand main drain. Hope everyone is well.

Talk about cuttting it fine im going to Warrnambool tomorrow to pay for new tractor.

I dont get it for a few weeks as i wanted 650 rears and 540 fronts so they doing a swap from another 7614 when it comes in.

Very excited none the less, i will not know myself, im also looking at selling my land plane and buying a wider one to speed up levelling process.
I am also wondering if i should buy a power harrow or speed disc to fine up soip for levelling, i have a set off 28 plate off sets, which i would cry if had to sell.

Just not sure what this heavy black ground will breakdown like.

Mrs cpf and myself went to warrnambool on the 14th June looking out for whales but we see two at the twelve apostles, we will be back looking again in august.

Paid for the big girl today, just waiting on bigger wheels. It’s red, should be fast yeah. Bit of a step up from my MF 50E, which to me is unreplaceable, along with my JD 3350, we made a couple mil together, they will be restored and kept.
Cut it fine for tax lol.
one of the few bits of kit I’ll ever get to buy new.

I figure need to be in deep dirt to work proper yeah? I don’t want to go to deep levelling so I keep structure so maybe speed till or plane old scarifier and harrows the way to go?? It will take a bit pulling a part, been a while since Jesus plowed it.

Ant…
Not necessarily. to deep just drags dirt in front of the leveling bar in front of the teeth. Main issue is they are so slow.
Ours sat in the shed for 15 years after using it half a dozen times. Traded it on a second hand boomspray. Got more for it than I payed for it. That was the most productive day from it.

No ad blue??????
Tier 2 baby all the way, was one of the reasons i went for th 7614, well price wise compared to 57 series or 6 series was no brainer, basically 5713s 4 cyl ad blue tier 4 same price as 7614 6 cyl tier 2, bigger loader bigger chassis, side by side basically double the tractor. 7614 is biggest selling model.

They are going to make a tier 2 version in the new 7s series, to keep price down.

I jumped at it as 2nd hand was not far off new price for this, to have the ability to load big squares is important $$$ wise, plus i can claim instant write off as wws under 150k, so get all my tax back bout 60k, so makes it a cheap tractor in the end.

Cheers, Ant...

I have to do a lot of new boundary fencing and only have 1 neighbour that keeps onto his electric fence, the rest are 70 years plus old and never keep fence running, it’s destroyed by there cattle on a lot of sections, I’ve put up a few wires on seperate steel posts a foot or so in to keep cattle on my side in.
If I put new fencing up unless I run a hot on there side it will get destroyed, the old people tend to take the p*ss a bit and act stupid or can’t do it, even though land is worth a fortune.

so I am just wondering how I best do this and how I can penalise them if they don’t maintain the hot wire etc, 3 of them I’ve spoke to and they do t even have a hot wire tester, I looked at one section tonight and the hot on there side is on the ground, some of the cattle in my side so had to chase back, it’s been like it for a while but when I rang them they had no idea?? Not that hard on a hundred acre block.
Im not a cattle rustler, it’s not a matter for the cops, a lawyers letter will
Cost me more than it’s worth.

Come November I have to offset disc 55 acres and start leveling.

I will also get a grader in and re do the main drain, make it proper big, as last year I seen how wet it gets, I’ll cut in the spoon drains with my grader blade on the 7614.

you might be able to see all the undulations in pic, 3” deep craters everywhere, lucky I have a kingqaud as they are rough.

Also got some old trough pads to sort out.
Cold here atm.

2 of the lane ways need widening and refencing as well.
