Hellish , ive a friend in his 20’s got a job on the railway driving a digger on the rails , £1600 a week in his hand !!! Yet folk producing quality food are having to bail their farm business out . Wtf is wrong with people , if these lot with high paid jobs had to milk the house cow ride goat and cuddle the sheep kiss the cabbage befoe work they wouldnt be able to have these great paid jobs !! We are so under valued its unbelievable, disgusting really in this era .
Yes, a lot of folk in these 'important' jobs sat in the house through COVID having the odd zoom meeting. We saw who was important then, those in the food chain at the top of the list along with medics and those hands on with essential infrastructure.

Might be back to the olden days before too long.
Just keep a few hens, a pig , couple of cows, half a dozen sheep and grow a field of corn to make bread with!
The thought keeps coming back into my head!🤔😂🤷‍♂️
This may be what humanity has to resort to to survive in the long term , the ultimate in carbon neutral, won’t necessarily be in my lifetime but I do believe it will happen at some point unless there really is a Big Bang

Exactly, we're idiots continuing to do it.

I think the pennies dropped with the next generation. Very few choosing to follow a career in agriculture.
Locally (5 mile) there is 3 of us under 45. Go 10 mile away and almost every farm has a son/daughter running the farm and most expanding where they can. Mostly dairy farms where the young are following on.
