Milk Price Tracker

Never much chat about First Milk on here. Are there many direct suppliers on here? July price will be about 7.5 pence behind Arla and no chance of anymore for July. Feels a bit like FM are heading the same way as a few years ago, are they in for some sticky times??

Johnes monitoring, quarterly BCS/cleanliness/mobility scoring and filling out an annual climate check survey aren’t exactly massive hurdles are they???

I’m quite happy doing all of the above for an extra 7.5ppl :)
Keeping Calves to 12? weeks, green energy, environmental areas, cow brushes, etc

Many of us have a choice to do such things.

As RT "turn the screw" for no reward farmers are up in arms, and rightly so.

What happens when the European milk price eases and the price is on a par with what everyone is paying?

Not a requirement for the standard litre price of 49p?
No, you have to ensure calves aren't slaughtered before 56 days but you don't have to keep them yourself. I would hope or imagine omsco have similar otherwise you're probably in for a bit of bad PR at some point.

The other bits might be requirements for the 360 contract but it's not available down here so I've never really looked at it.

Hence the ?
It can still be a cost to the business either way.

Omsco have had a calf policy longer than Arla.

What Arla farmers say on here isn't what they communicate in private.
