Need advice/help

Steady @Sleepygirl ..... you're bound to get some off-colour/ less civil replies.
Ignore them, and take what's constructive.

I'm still thinking of more questions .....where are kids going to be schooled?
Have you been in contact with district authorities in FW?
Thank you, we got a couple of numbers to try yesterday and just waiting to hear back from 1 that seems quite promising 🤞 would mean no camping and most importantly would mean my family is in a safe place, reaching out to ask for help is quite scary but ive had alot more nice comments than nasty ones and I'm greatful for that, I'm just easy triggered and have had very little sleep 🙈 thank you 👍

Hi have you spoken with groceryaid? If you aren’t up on groups that can help there is plenty out there. I also work for a national retailer and also do a fair bit of mental health first aid with colleagues. In this exact Same situation I would be recommending you call them. Pm me if you want a chat

Hi, I don't if I'm posting this in the right place or not
I'm looking for a friendly farmer/landowner in fort william that would be willing to let us stay on thier land in a tent in exchange for our labour,
Myself my husband 2 kids ages 11 and 13 two dogs and a cat
We have work in fort william but cannot afford accommodation from Oct to Feb
We will be spending the winter in tents and wild camping if we cannot find someone willing to let us stay, we are quiet people, the dogs r trained and would be kept on leash,we will follow all rules and help you out with whatever we are able to, we are not afraid to get our hands dirty. we currently live in England and my husband has got a transfer for his work up to fort william to get us back up to scotland
we are originally from dumbarton and Helensburgh.
with his work we have accommodation untill October but there's no way after that that we can afford to pay rent anywhere, we are giving up everything we have and only taking wat we can carry with us
Any reply, advice or hint and tips will be greatly appreciated

Do supermarkets provide accommodation with work now?

Average rainfall Nov to March is 8 inches per MONTH and temp is 2°C.
It is going to be a fancy tent and certainly not in a hollow.
Please find a caravan at least

Surely should manage to find accomodation of sorts Oct- Feb? It'll be the off season.id be getting in touch with a caravan site see.if you can rent a static for the winter even if it was for cash.
I don't really know the area but if you've got a driver's license I'd imagine there's jobs around up there.

seems to me that farmers are not the only people being screwed by supermarkets!

how can anyone working full time possibly be paid so little they can only afford for their family to live in a tent

Supermarkets made fortunes through covid and became even more dominant yet they clearly treat staff as badly as they do suppliers still

society is broken, supermarkets hold quite a lot of responsibility for that imo

However people do make life choices that also determine their future......
....I'm not sure the right ones are being made here in this case !

I will just say quietly I am in pm conversation with OP outside of this thread trying to help.
