I'm looking for a new tractor

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to buy a new tractor for my operations. I'm thinking of John Deere 6120m or Case Maxxum 150. The tractor is going to be ploughing, disking, cultivating, spraying, fertilizing, planting etc. The two tractors are similarly priced but the thing is I'm not sure of the reliability of the Maxxum 150 on the other hand the JD 6120m is a 4 cylinder while the Maxxum 150 is a 6 cylinder. Does anyone have experience with one of the two and also what problems have you encountered with them?

Thanks in advance!

John Deere engine is 4. 5 litre 4 cylinder
Case engine is 6.7 litre 6 cylinder so it’s got to be the case.

What's your dealer like?
Go with your preferred dealer first brand second
Bothe dealers are good in terms of service. My concern here is of the reliability since my neighbors got 2 brand new Case Magnum 340 2 years ago and when they went to get them from the dealer both of them had leaking front axels. Last year they bought three Case Axial-Flow 150 one of them had a bad fuel pump. I'm not saying that JD are better machines because there aren't a lot in my region and I can't say for sure but we all know they are expensive to say the least.

What are you using just now?

Buy what you like driving. No point buying a tractor by recommendation on here as everyone will tell you something different.
I'm not asking for recommendation I'm asking people who own and use one of the two machines to tell me their experience and problems they have encountered(if they had any). I'm split between these two tractors and I'm going to make my purchase based on the machine that gives less faults.

Going to either a 6120m or a case Maxum will be a step backward then?

Deutz 6140ttv is what you need

Four cylinder that out pulls the case six, and it's that good that Deere have decided to start developing their new engine with them instead of in house

Well proven Vario gearbox that is literally perfect for the tasks you've listed. Better lift capacity and geometry, far better brakes, and the old k series cab is a spacious palace compared to the small Deere or tiny agrofarm. Case has a nice cabin, but after Deutz control layout logic, the button positions and controls in the red one will drive you bonkers

Unless of course you've no local Deutz dealer?
