Kuhn fc283 lift control

Does anyone have experience of the above? Inherited one and don’t have a manual! Mowed a field the other day and struggled to get an even height across the cutting width. It’s not the tidiest of machines but it is probably operator error! Only ever really used trailed mowers before

You should have your lift arms set so that the link pins are at 500mm from the ground when in the working position.
I think from memory bed pressure should be about 90. Hope that helps a bit.

How do you set bed pressure? Sorry if that’s a stupid question

There should be a gauge on the front of the machine, open the tap, pressurise the spool until you get required pressure, close tap to hold it there. Higher gauge pressure = lower bed pressure and obviously vice-versa.
Never altered ours yet,but is that adjustment made on or off the ground? Book somewhere but can't place it

Is there definitely a tap on that model? Don’t recall seeing one

Had ours from new and never adjusted the bed pressure.

Ours runs on 1000 PTO and spool is in float when bed is down so it follows the ground contours.

This is what the tap looks like on a 313, seem to remember it being similar on our 283

It's 400mm on my 243 and I thinks its about 100psi for a 283.

You have to lower the left hand link arm 2-3 inches depending how worn your cross shaft and linkage is, and how soft your tyres are , so the mower bed lifts parallel to the ground.
