Temp gauge

I did have another enquiry the Temp Gauge on the 4610 starts off the scale then settles back to mid range when running and sometimes fluctuates all over the place. Is this a gauge fault or sender issue ? I was also thinking of faulty voltage regulator if fitted

I think the voltage regulator also does the fuel so in theory it should have the same fault.
I suspect a chaffed wire as off the scale at hot is a short circuit. (if the engines cold)

Could also be voltage regulator in dynamo circuit or if you have alternator have you checked voltage on battery when running.
