All things Dairy

Sounds rather dramatic!
Were supposed to fully housed on robots quite a while ago but had a slight lack of electric. Cut a couple of the usual grazing fields, youngstock in another thinking the cows wouldn’t be needing them so have been tight for grass. All being well robots will be running in early August so might as well shut them in now. Loads of silage, lack of the green stuff.

What’s wrong with feeding them in the yard?
They have started being lazy little sh1!s

Eat their silage and instead of wondering back out to the field to lie down, they lie down on the concrete in the collecting yard 🙄 I refuse to open the cubicle shed doors as that will mean wiping teats, more scraping, putting sand in etc

Worse parlour. Ever
one went in, locally, not long ago, herringbone to tandem, they reckon its wonderful, or so they claim, some of the staff, beg to differ.
Lad we know, went for a 'trial', 41 cows, tandem parlour, 4 hrs to milk, washdown, and feed, he isn't the smartest, his biggest problem, washing down, with a trickle of water, he didn't take the job.
Went to an on farm dispersal, with a 2/4 herringbone, 60/70 cows.
And knew of a 2 cow bail, again with 60/70 cows.
