Not exactly correct , US haven't agreed because Russia want sanctions lifted first

The danube route is extremely expensive as the wheat has to be lorried in from great distances
Was shown a map a few weeks ago and I think the cost of the Danube route was around €60/tonne extra. Others (through Baltic Sea) added a similar cost

What about fert price?

Has a bigger bearing on our beef production costs than wheat price.
In that scenario I imagine you'd have a lot of unsown SB area to spread the cattle out over.

Very hypothetical - I acknowledge you have barley sold forward, and don't think we would see such a grain/fert imbalance. Can you imagine the the noise from the big grain areas?

Most Beef/pork/poultry producers have been losing money for all of 2022.

I don't feel any sympathy for grain producers doing the same.

Most own land worth a lot of money so can take it.

Why cant all farmers want higher prices for everything
produced, rather than playing one against the other with
a race to the bottom.
It's sad that British farming is like this .:(
Mad isn’t it!
Why would you want lower beef prices as a beef farmer?
We’ve been waiting 30 years for beef prices to get here, and we all know they should really be 50p/kg more, not less!
Obviously the cost hike isn’t ideal, but at least the high prices give us more Lea way, even if they aren’t ideal

Tony, is that you?

I mean it's been 15 years, and you must have a lot of time on your hands these days. But you haven't really changed a bit since the days when you were stabbing working class farmers in the back as the 'Labour' (LOL'z) Prime Minister...

I was shouting at the tele last night, they were claiming that as inflation came down things would get cheaper, NO they just don't get as expensive so quickly, for price to come down we would deflation which no one seems to want.. I think one of the problems is that we have had cheap fuel and food for too long and now it's catching up with everything else.
