Russian Grain Deal

There seem to be weather related problems in most of the major grain growing regions around the world as far as I can see. Even if Ukraine comes back 100% on stream, I fail to see why the world price is dropping. What a con. Lured to pay £700 / ton + for fert on the strength of £300 / ton + for grain. As a small scale producer in an iffy weather region, I'm not confident enough to sell forward, before someone pipes up........
Might do a Bob next year, unless fert price falls dramatically.

Why are you lured to buy fert? You have the tools to buy and sell forward its a choice of economics . No one has a gun to your head

How are you doing now?

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I’m really quite well thank you. Thank you for asking.

It’s a very strange thing to have had such a major event with a vital organ, which was fixed while I was fully awake, without any pain, watching what they were doing to my own heart on TV beside the treatment table, as if it was all happening to somebody else.
But the truth is that thanks to what they did, I am in far better heath now than I was this time last week, even though I never knew something was actually physically wrong with my heart.
What comes even harder is that others around me think and sincerely believe that this major thing has happened which means I should have substantial time off work and even ask whether I should ever work again!
This is actually very annoying, insofar as only I was there when the angiogram and angioplasty took place and only I know what the Doctors and Surgeons told me I can and can’t do!

All I’ll say is this: We start Combining wheat on Monday. Everything is ready, there is no panic. I could do it in my sleep. To those of you making a fuss, stop worrying. I am perfectly OK and not an invalid.

But even I find it incredible to believe that I very nearly died on Monday, but am fully fixed now!

Those who know me really well have realised and commented to me that this and my pre-diabetes health issues were brought on by severe stress that happened to me last year. Even when it was all over, the effects last way beyond the end of the stress event itself.
That stress put upon me was totally unjustified and unnecessary. Unfortunately, its effects are not fixable anything like as quickly as surgery, if at all.
Ironically, the best cure for it is to carry on working and prove to the stress givers that they were very wrong!
However, sometimes they are either too arrogant to admit their mistake or too stupid to realise what they actually did and caused. Fortunately, some are not afraid to point out to them all, the errors of their ways, and the long term consequences of their actions.

Thanks again for asking and to all those who have asked and sent the good wishes. Much appreciated!

I'd a stroke in Jan 2020, misdiagnosed. Was almost a week later till they did scan and found brain damage. Was sent home and told I couldn't stand or walk properly because of a middle ear infection. 🤦‍♂️

Completely agree with your attitude, it worked for me. I just went home and continued winter ploughing, then drilled 600 acres. Not good for body and mind doing nothing. Was just thankful I could still function to do it.

Well knock me down with a feather, less than 24 hours after signing the ‘agreement’, Russia fired 6 missiles at the port of Odessa this morning.
If only someone could have seen this coming!

PS- wheat back up to £300 on Monday…
I see Russia have said it has nothing to do with them. They would say that of course but would it really be in Russia's interests to do that so soon after signing an agreement, more advantage for Ukraine don't you think?
I believe one of the frustrations America has at the moment is it doesn't really know much about Ukraine's plans and force numbers or even their casualties. They've said they know far more about Russia's actions as they are a long time enemy. Spying on Ukraine, not so much and Zelensky is keeping operational plans secret.
I'm not saying he bombed his own port but I'm skeptical of most things coming out of Ukraine.
Putin's in a different league but I'm not sure I'd trust Zelensky either.

Indeed but doesn't the deal benefit Russia? Grain gets out, talk of global hunger reduces and Zelensky loses some leverage. The gas pipeline is running again, so not as much worry about EU countries freezing this winter. Not a good week if your asking for more help.
You wouldn't know whats going on.
Probably the russian missile commander has bought wheat futures and doesn't want a loss!!

Putin and Zelensky both are desperate to exp[ort grain and fertiliser, not sure if Ukraine has any manufacturing capability to make it though, thanks to Putins rockets.
So they sign a deal which allows both to export but Putin knows full well he has an ace card which will ensure no Captain in his right mind will steer to Odessa unless he has a Nato military escort, which I do not see happening, so it will be win win for Putin. He signed it the other day, then put his stamp on it that night.Unless the US put warships in to the Black Sea, which I cannot see Turkey allowing, there will be not enough to feed a mouse from free
