Seems to be an awful lot of girls being born, I now have 7 grand daughters & still waiting for a grandson, there's going to be some very lucky boys in the future, my mum was one of twins, born at home weighing just two pounds in weight but she must have been a tough little devil even then!

Yep our consultant said there is a lot of girls being born.

Our 3 are part of 10 cousins from my side..... 8 girls, 2 boys

Wifes bro and his wife expecting a girl too

Fitted a hydraulic hand pump onto the 1085 direct connected to the drum speed variator pulley. So now I can vary the drum speed just by leaning out of the window and giving the handle a few pumps. Saved having to buy a new spool valve block and confirmed the problem is in the spool block not the variator pulley. Nice when a plan comes together for a change, even it is a bit “Heath Robinson”. So the 1085 is now fully functional as a back up or can be sold fully functional. So a bit of progress has been made today.

There was a beautiful 1188 Mk2 Hydro 4 in last week’s FW. £15,000. If I had time to use it I would have been seriously tempted.
Not much call for combining during the winter though.

Had lots of gooseberry fool and stewed gooseberries, this is the nicest jam I’ve had in a long while and the gooseberry vodka is already very drinkable after only 10 days.

There's no place like home!
I was going to have a rant on "what grinds your gears" but on getting back I realised that this was more appropriate.
Just had a week on one of the Spanish islands. Originally booked for 2020 when we had no rape to combine and the kids were younger and one better placed to look after the farm while we were away.
The day before we went I realised that the grass that I thought would keep the sheep for a week was burning off in the heat and I had to make a hasty new plan.
An hour and a half late leaving the airport so travelled to the hotel in the dark and didn't see any of the island and its farming.
First day. Told to move our sunbeds by a German as we should be a meter from them! I pointed out that we were making the most of the shade from the trees, had been there all day, and if they didn't like it they should move. They repeated their demand, and got the same answer. They had 2 sunbeds each and a parasol, stuff anyone else!
Day 3. Had my wallet picked from my pocket. A few euros, one credit card and our return ferry tickets. Not a disaster, but annoying and ruined the day. I had the CC emergency number in my phone (do it now if you haven't). The ferry crew accepted our story for not having tickets.
Day 5. Got a stomach bug. A day lost (couldn't be far from a toilet or eat) and no more beer for the rest of the holiday.
Finally landed late last night after a week of worrying that Putin might do something to ground all planes and we'd be stuck there.
I'm not complaining about the holiday, much of it was good, I know I'm lucky to have one and many people have huge problems in their lives.
But.
There's no place like home!
And I still can't face a beer.

That would make me smile. If I could just have an inch a day for a week things would so much happier.
Carful what you ask for. I said last year that id never complain about it raining too much again after two drought years. Spraying canola on Saturday with the low spots a foot deep in water, wheat being flattened by heavy rain and wind. Only crop liking the constant rain and heat is the soybeans. Bought a cottage on an island last year and it flooded with two feet of water from heavy spring rains. If it doesn’t rain again this year I’ll be happy.
