Slew wear on digger

I was hoping it was the pins and bushings that were worn in the slew of my digger. There is about 1 to 2mm of wear on the bushing and pin. It's the casting that has the most wear with about 3mms or so. Is it a waste of time doing the pin and bushing with so little wear in comparison to the casting itself.

Any easy way of dealing with the wear in the casting other than line boring and welding?

You can get taper pins to take up slack in the casting quite expensive but do work, it is a normal size pin with a taper on each end where it fits into casting then a taper sleeve slides on and the whole lot gets bolted up tight, ask any supplier of digger pins and bushes etc maybe digbits my supplier Ken Malcolm would source them

They’re called “Expander” pins 👍👍

The smaller pins are not too bad in cost when you compare to line boring, but for the larger pins the cost difference between them and getting the job done properly is negligible.
