I think I'm being dumb or maybe I just need to go to bed but can anyone tell me where this wire is meant to go?

Is that not the wire off the air filter warning lamp, connects top air restriction switch 🤔
Thank you I think your right. I've put the bonnet back on now though so a bit more swearing.
Do you (or anyone else) by any chance know if it's the same oil as the back end for the clutch cylinder? It says hytran on the bottle but I've only got universal transmission oil that I use in the back end will that do?

Not sure on clutch oil sorry, but think it's hi-tran only 🤔

I'll try and find some there might be an old drum here somewhere with a bit in it or I hope there is. Universal might have to do for now though I have 70 acres of hay to carry by Wednesday before the rain and i need my loader back :X3: going to be another long night of spannering I'm off to get stuff ready for baling now  I'll sleep on Wednesday

Some UTTO would be better.

Been using Fuchs agrifarm UTTO in my internationals instead of HyTran and not had any issues.
Our local oil specialist sells fuchs utto. If it needs to be red he simply adds a dye when they are filling 205l barrels cans etc. We run all case stuff and use this utto without the dye in all of them, have been for years. I've got a feeling the case dealer uses/sells it with the dye in.

What spool valves are fitted to a case 885xl 1990,
Looking for a couple of slices to put in,
Would like both to be up, hold, down and float, with no detents on up and down,
Is this possible ?

Should be these bosch spool valves fitted.
There were multiple combinations of this valve available not sure if what you are looking for was one of them.

Does anyone know how I would stop the pipe leaking and bottom if dipstick tube on case 885 engine. It doesn't seem to unscrew and don't want to damage it.

Could have swore there should be an oring at the bottom and the tube should just pull out to replace it but the parts list doesn't show an oring...?
Have seen the tubes brazed in before...

Must have been something like that that sealed it originally if there's no oring and a new one can be bought seperately so it's not as if it's classed as part of the sump.
@Gapples might know...

Actually in this instance I don't know, I've never seen one leak before !
If I had to guess I'd say they are pressed in or chilled & pushed in with maybe a sealant on them, a good loctite perhaps would do the trick.

Sorry I can't be of any more help..

We DID have a fleet of LA Case tractors, back in the day of my grandfather & great uncle.

a mate of mine, his father did a Perkins conversion of an LA ( kero engine ) back in the day

we sold all ours in a clearing sale back in the 80’s - wish I’d kept one now ( I was still in school back then )
