we have a pipe across our ground that they pump fuel through for Fairford airfield. There kept being a tanker and car parked in the lay-by all one summer, we thought it was people shagging. Turned out they had taped in to pipe. 😳
I've got a mate on a oil pipe line from Pembrokeshire to brum to Manchester and its regular thing

There’s a main gas one going from South Hook (Milford) to Gloucester way which is 5’ wide fitted in 2004/5, I did a bit on it for a chartered surveyor at the time, something crazy like 20 metres down. I know the trench was 60metres wide.

Good job he didn’t mention beef prices, I would have to drive down to Somerset and beaten him to death with a prattley pin. 😂😂
funny we was just discussing when to test our stores, usually sell beginning of sept but no bugger will want them if hasn't rained.

oh and those pins are expensive so you wouldn't want to bend it

This pipe was laid in the 70s I think esso used to own it but now a Spanish company do its about 18inch wide and a bit porous as lots of repairs they do on it every now again they put a machine to scan the pipe all the way up to Manchester the time to put machine in run it up stop the oil it costs nearly 1 million £ to do

And the rest probably. There are some crazy figures quoted when a pump goes and needs changing and they have to stop things for a few hours, £ millions per hour job

Main fuel line from Hull-Manchester runs under our farm. We were digging a drain a few years back and this offal looking fella appeared yelling and waving his arms that we were going to hit the pipeline.🤷🏻‍♂️ We were at one side of a 7 acre field and it was 2/3 way across it. He tried telling us we should ask permission before disturbing any soil near the pipeline. 🤷🏻‍♂️ We told him to go forth and multiply, ignored him and carried on. But it makes you wonder how the hell they knew we were there? Unless we’d just dropped unlucky of one of the helicopter surveys?

Rain what is that, nearly used up 40000 gallon rain water tank, farm pond down 18 inches, borehole still going luckily, hope the mains does not have to be turned on. Sheep and cattle all on silage, green grass a distant memory. Mid devon
Yep, plenty looking like this here too.
Also mid Devon, though close to Somerset border
