Who come up with this rubbish, we need to make sure our stock have adequate food/water, to reduce water intake give them less feed. 🤷‍♂️

DUMFRIES MONTHLY PIG SALE

A smaller show of 81 pigs were forward at the monthly sale at Dumfries and met a similar trade to the last couple of months with regular and new buyers in attendance but caution still prevailing owing to the high input costs across the industry generally.

Quality was excellent with Large Black baconers from Argyll to £220 and Saddleback cutters from Jedburgh to £110 and £92 with other cutters & forward stores at £85, £80 and £70. Registered Berkshire gilt weaners from Broughton in Furness sold to £70 and a pen of exceptional Mangalitza cross five-week old weaners from Kirkby Stephen made £50 with Oxford Blues from Stirling at the same price.

The next Dumfries pig sale will be on Monday 5th September

Please transfer this post to the pig price tracker. It needs all the help it can get. 😉

Unfortunately I'm not going to get them there. Got them in this morning, and put one in the crush to retag it. It managed to smash it's way out, kicking the gate into my knee so I'm now not going very well. They then jumped on another gate and the gate post snapped cleared another 2 gates and away. 🤬 Anybody know where I can get some shorthorns?:scratchhead:
My brief visit to the fat cattle ring yesterday showed that up. Two shorthorns came in and wandered round the ring and out the gate no problem. Next two limmys tried to eat the ringside spectators 😯

NFU won’t take on the argument as they think it’s one they might loose
The anti meat lot always revert back to the ratio of feeding cattle or sheep with grain and say humans should just skip feeding animals for meat and eat the grain
Bearing in mind most animals eat waste products at some point I think the NFU are missing a trick
They always miss all the tricks, No fuking use man .
