I often think if you added up all the claimed amounts of co2 emmissions from all the various sources when they blame this or that for x amount/ % , the total probably comes to about 300% of actual co2 emmissions. 🙄 X amount given off for every Google search for eg. Multiply that up for the...

    Cattle manure value

I must be missing something here. I'm a livestock farmer who buys in straw. I want the muck for my own land.

    Mole Valley sheds any good?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking their sheds - I have no experience of them. The bit I've had to do with the engineering division has been more positive than the retail arm. Just found the statement I highlighted rather amusing as not at all my experience of mvf in general.

    Feeding pigs

Not great quantities of it, but she's using a forage based system, with grass and cover crops, so now they're in because its too wet, they get silage. They like it, and it means they have something to pick at always, but just small amounts. If you're pushing for fast finishing, probably best to...

    Feeding pigs

My daughter is feeding barley, wheat, beans and peas. All rolled. Oh, and silage. But they're native breeds.

Would think they must be seen less than once a week to lose many (any?) to brambles & heads stuck.

    Red tractor consultation

Guessed that was what it was aimed at, just wondered if the ewe adopter would get caught up in it?

    Red tractor consultation

Just wondering - "tethering as a management practice would no longer be permitted " What is meant by tethering? Would adopters no longer be acceptable for ewes and lambs?

Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

I averaged £97 for lambs that were mid 30s kg at best, and looking very dirty after getting squitty on some fresh grass for the last week. A good £10 more than I expected, even after hearing prices on here all week.

Realise that, just wondered what sort of money the contracts were on. Market prices, and those in the ahdb email, are always so low as to seem unsustainable. Daughter does direct sales, but wouldn't want a surplus to have to sell on open market.
