    Farming resilience fund

I’ve got someone coming out in November, it’s about something completely different that I want to look into but using the FRF I get them on site and there time and advice for free. Yes they have to go through a couple of forms with us first but may as well get my moneys worth out of the scheme.

    Jd 3400

3400 was JD’s own machine, unlike the earlier 4400 which was a green matbro.

Starting to get worried about the wet weather ?

My old man loves some more recreational ploughing and it was far to tall to turn over so had to chop it. And to be fair, diesel is a lot cheaper than glyphosate at the moment 😂.

    New toy day

Not quite Redbacks but had to send me mum to get some new boots and drop them off in the field as the steel sole protector had decided to work its way out the side of my old ones and pretty much cut the sole off 🤦🏻‍♂️. Always seems a shame to get them dirty 😂

    Combination drill

Suffolk counters are the work of the devil unless your on boy’s ground! I’d get discs with press/depth control wheels every time. With discs and press wheels you get better ground penetration, consistent seed depth on changing soil types, better seed to soil contact, higher forward speed, the...

Starting to get worried about the wet weather ?

Just taking the wheelings out with the PH so not over working it at 10kph. It’s coming up lovely though, drilled some cover on it back in July and it’s working up nice. Was a bit worried it would hold to much moisture but seems to have kept it drier if anything! Disc’d it in this morning.

Starting to get worried about the wet weather ?

Back up and running today, heavy rain over night then drizzle most of the morning but the ground has taken it really well. Down to the last 45ac of winter barley now then can crack on with some more wheat. Forecast isn’t looking to good after Friday though 🤦🏻‍♂️

Pre ploughing and pre emergence spraying

I wouldn’t have sprayed that either, I’ll generally just do 6/12m around the outside and maybe 24m where there’s going to be a back furrow. Find it stops the ryegrass creeping into the field from the margins. Only spray the who field if there’s any grass issues or it’s not getting ploughed, we...
