    On Farm Domestic Battery Storage

Your idea is pretty much what I'm wanting to do, only we'd be topping up from the solar. Most agri use is summer, it would only be domestic in winter. I'm hearing there's big developments in the near future. We'll see.

    On Farm Domestic Battery Storage

Due to logistics we use more in the summer, but I understand re the winter hours being unproductive. Fingers crossed there's some developments. Thanks for the reply.

    Farm Batteries

This maybe should go in the Renewables bit but it's not about generation so I'll ask here. Anyone using domestic battery storage to try and go off grid ie save solar or wind via batteries to use at night or other periods? The tech must be getting there surely?

    On Farm Domestic Battery Storage

Anyone tried to go 'off grid' yest? Batteries are rumoured to be improving. We have solar on the sheds and I'd love to be able to store the energy for off peak but haven't heard of anything good enough yet. Anyone any experience?

    Valuing farm steading.

I was hoping there was a simple way of ballpark valuing old sheds. ie 1930s hayshed, leaking roof, clay floor - roughly 'x', 1970s veg store, concrete floor, leaky roof and gutters, crumbling walls = 'y'. It's not me who actually lives there, but someone close who's been asking...

    FiT Payments

If electricity costs rise as predicted, do existing FiT payments also rise?

    Valuing farm steading.

The steading is tied up in an AHA for another 2 generations too. Neighboring farms have been sold off though, hence the general interest.

    Valuing farm steading.

How would you go about valuing a farm steading? No land. just the farmhouse and buildings. If the buildings are mostly old, many with leaking gutters, holes in roofs, in need of fixing etc. how would you go about valuing them? Obviously they were once all new sheds, concrete floors and the...

Carbon Offsetting??Please show me the theory in practice.

There is evidence out there that the secret 'New World Order' or whoever you want to call them (those who actually call the shots, behind the scenes) have been slowly implementing their plan for decades. There's a document somewhere, the minutes of a meeting from the 90s that shows the global...

New Farming Investment Fund launched today

We've been toying with putting in a borehole, primarily for livestock need but possibility of arable too. Is there any scope to use the grant for the borehole? Some of the items appear to be on the list but there's nothing specific?

    Question about a ford(river crossing)

Who owns the field acroos the river? Does it now belong to your neighbour or is he renting it / has use of it? I presume you used to rent it?

    Real Margins

I'm not an arable man but am interested in the current situation. I was with 2 pals the other day, one of whom was delighted at the price he was getting for his wheat, the other, whilst glad the price is up, reckons due to the huge rises in inputs everyone is kidding themselves and margins...

    The family farm

I think we all feel the same but the OP says there's no interest from the next generation...which definitely skews things.

    The family farm

If you like the location and lifestyle look at share farming or renting it out? Equally, if you can't bear to see things you've done be destroyed or changed, and get a real enjoyment from those things, again, share or rent. However, if you're not fussed and could quite happily live elsewhere...

    Economies of Scale....apparently.

Apart from the background detail which I diidnt really want to get into whereby the old boy cant work on his own or he'd go pop Family supported him years ago but when he went alone it didn't work out and he needed bailed out. The bank, LL etc deal with me and me alone now, and have done for...

    Economies of Scale....apparently.

Respect is earnt. It's not a right. It's a very deluded individual, no matter their age, who wakes up convinced they 'deserve respect'. We were advised to use mediators due to 'business issues' ie keeping it viable, and I've been handed nothing for free here. This question re EOS was after...
