I find the not knowing makes the situation more stressful. If there are only relatively few people off now why can't they keep us up to date with what is happening rather than generalized inaccurate information

Many people still off? According to the power grid site we are 1 of 10 houses in the area not connected. However the web site says it will be connected by 6pm on the 2nd which was yesterday for fxxks sake. There's an hour's wait to talk to anybody. Why should that be if most people are now...

Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

I was there for most of the sale apart from a sociable hour in the cafe. Better than sitting in the dark at home. Good crack with a lot of people with the same idea. Trade seemed to get stronger as the sale went on. Anything with meat and size was a great trade didn't seem to matter to much...

Just catching up on things as no internet or phone signal since Friday. Still no electricity. If we didn't have a log burner and an Aga we'd be finished. There were big drifts and a wagon blown over on the A66 going over the top. Reopened on Monday. We don't seem to have much damage fortunately

Would you buy an electric vehicle POLL

We haven't had any electricity since Friday. Would have been absolutely stuffed if we were relying on electric vehicles

    The positive thread

Shamelessly copied from another thread.. Veganism is ‘the opponent’ of climate change mitigation, says top climate advisor News18 Nov 2021Abi Kay The UK Government’s top climate change advisor has warned vegan activists are ‘the opponent’ of climate change mitigation. Lord Deben, who chairs...

    Start up costs sheep

Is the loss not negative cash flow rather than a trading loss. i.e. you still have the value of the equipment, breeding stock etc on your balance sheet and with the way prices have gone they will probably have gone up in value? Our accountant told us we'd made quite a reasonable profit last...

Just back from Kirkby, lot fewer in, just over 120 pens whereas last week over 200. I would think trade similar to last week. Heavy lambs at a premium, mule wethers over 50kgs getting up to £130, Texel/mules £140. Swaleys up to £2.20 per Kg. Swaley job looks quite attractive at the moment...

The other side of it is that those extreme tups from these flocks when used on mules or other maternal ewes will lamb quite easily and produce a higher value lamb. This means the rams are worth more. It's the pures that need the C sections. I'm not condoning C sections in pures and I don't...

Zetor Major 80 Anyone got one?

Having run a Proxima for nearly 4 years and going back to a Massey this year was like going from night to day. I'm also confident the MF will hold its value much better than the Zetor, once you go outside the Zetor dealer network and are not trading for another Zetor the depreciation is...

    Afghanistan on brink of starvation

As with Afghanistan, much of it is down to the poverty of our politicians (and I don't mean financially) and it seems they are getting worse

    Afghanistan on brink of starvation

All I'm trying to say is the religious people were praying, the non religious were committing mass genocide. But you're saying the religious people are responsible for all the killings. Where's the logic in that?
