Nope I don’t have any kit at the mo so I’m buying in fresh, the guys at Gribben said it should be euro 8 so il buy in euro 8 kit. I assume that’s the most common now I hear?

    Loader for Ford 7840

Yeah a polish company I think, imported from a chap in Ireland, Karl Campbell. £6000 is a cheaper loader but comes with soft ride, self levelling and euro headstock apparently.

    Loader for Ford 7840

Just been offered a Trimma 540 from Gribben tractors £2900 plus VAT for a 7840, or a new Intertech IT 1600 for £6000 with new brackets etc. The latter comes with soft ride etc. thoughts?

    Loader for Ford 7840

Hi all, Im after a loader for my Ford 7840 and nothing second hand seems to fit a 6 cylinder machine or sells too fast for me to make my mind up. Couple of new options, border plant can supply me a Metal Te loader for around £5k + VAT but never heard of this make? Other option is I go full in...

7840 SL PTO speed and rpm

Actually, 4wd and diff sounds about right. So I guess my machine doesn’t have an eco pto then. Bugger. I ran the hedger at 1200rpm engine and it worked fine but at the higher revs even in the lowest gear it will move quicker. Best learn to control the head at higher speeds 😬.

7840 SL PTO speed and rpm

So I tried the mower today at the white 540 setting and it cut perfectly! Sound was perfect like a jet engine. iv looked in my cab and there is no yellow PTO lever, there is a small rocker switch next to the PTO selector which I could try? The hedge cutter, haybob and baler might work better at...

7840 SL PTO speed and rpm

That’s what I thought but couldn’t find a lever for the pto? I think it’s a 1996. The haybob seemed to be running a bit slow hence the confusion. I think it’s a 540 shaft but without knowing the difference I’m not sure

7840 SL PTO speed and rpm

Hi all, I have been finding my feet with hay and found out I went too slow with my drum mower and it didn’t cut that well. One problem I have come across is what the lines on my RPM gauge mean. NH 7840 SL, I have the dual power option with 3 ranges and a shuttle lever. I have one line in amber...

    Reseeding grassland

Hedges I’m sorting, ditches I can dig with a borrow machine. The lowest ditch has a concrete pipe from the neighbours into ours and from ours to another neighbours so I will clear that. Soil check, lime mix in and then we shall see. Thanks all 👍🏻
