    Nroso heavy handed email

If you are a BASIS member with a current certificate this gets you 10 points with NROSO. This can be done annually and can be backdated in your current NROSO 3 year window. Look under FAQs on NROSO website.

Is Vaderstad worth the extra money?

Look at Claydon! We love our 12m set but they also make 8m sets. Well built and fully specced with lights and brakes as standard when we bought ours.

Weaving do a longer bracket. Same leg and seed tube but the extended bracket drops the seed approx 25mm deeper. Works well. We did 3 each side this autumn and have ordered two more so a total of eight - four each side.

    Autumn manure banned

Does the phrase “give rise to a significant risk of agricultural diffuse pollution” mean that any manure application below 5kgN/ha of leached nitrate is considered a lower than than significant risk of pollution?

Combining flat winter linseed - any tips

We tried today and failed. Set field on fire 4 times and linseed wrapped around a rotor gearbox and tore a seal out. Not ripe is our guess and the hot weather is deceiving us that it is fit. Now worried combine is going to catch on fire so sat watching it with hosepipes ready having damn near...

    Basis and nroso

I send my annual BASIS certifcate to them (assuming I stay on the BASIS register) and get ten points per year for the certificate. This gives you 30 points over the three years wthout specific NROSO points. BASIS points are not NROSO points and are not interchangeable. It worked this year!

    My Amazone App

I ring whenever we can’t find a setting in the app. I agree the new app is lacking. Really good service from Amazone on the phone and they have always got us a setting that seems good - even some odd ones when we have spread on contract. That have even asked when purchased as the supplier...

    Weaving sabre tine user thread

We ploughed and power harrowed behind maize and followed (briefly) with our sabre tine this year. We aimed to do the maize like this as a mounted drill would cope if it was wetter. We failed! The loose maize stalks wrapped around the coulter and blocked the outlet within meters. Perhaps if we...

    Intercropping linseed and winter beans

DONT DO IT! I had to cut some last year and getting a sample was very difficult as either whole boll in the tank or so many cracked beans the returns blocked in meters. Cleaned three times so far including optical sort and run through combine I believe. The verdict was not a good idea and not to...

    Weaving sabre tine user thread

Spring drilling is getting closer and wonderd if anyone with the old style had tips for drilling beans. We have shallow cultivated and rolled last autumn and have firm and weed free seedbeds. What setting do people use for the coulters - hole closest to the bottom so seed is dropped as low as...

    Weaving sabre tine user thread

Not on the Sabretine. It seems to be where the metering device flutes stop when we lift up - if we are unlucky the flap cannot shut enough and seed flows in through the gap. We think!

    Weaving sabre tine user thread

First post in Direct Drilling section so be gentle please! We are taking small steps in direct drilling and have bought a reconditioned 2014 metal tank Sabretine from Weaving. We have had a couple of issues I am hoping the wisdom on here will help with. We also have a Vaderstad rapid as our...

Lynx/Zuidberg linkages not up to much?

Yes. CNH variation on T7 long wheelbases and Magnum. Same arm though on both. Keep bushes in stock a regular wear part and when they wear it can shock load arm. When under warranty we had them replaced too often - even had CNH service guy inspect. He suggested it was fair wear and tear until he...

We tried with a 6 m 2015 build at around 300kg rate. Blocked at the coulter. The metering devices could take it but the coulter ends were too small and blocked badly. Changed to bean coulters for everything and not a problem now. Spring beans are normally fine through a standard coulter - it is...
