    Plasticulture

I have spent a few quid on inter row weeding and spraying and it doesnt work great. After much thought and research, I like the plastic option. Its fully biodegradeable and will lead to cleaner fruit, extra bit of warmth and weeds too. Just trying to get it done as reasonably as i can!

I have another question. Was going to lay the mulch with my samco maize sower. It will do 2 rolls of mulch at the same time. However, the tractor wheels run in the middle of the rows pretty much. So my current concern is the ability of the the transplanter to poke into the ground after having...

Now that pumpkins 2021 are over, looking at 2022. Anyone use black plastic mulch and transplant into it? I think it would be a real help with weed control. Any pros or cons. Does it need drip tape? Do I need a bed former rather then a power harrow? Thanks To

    Pumpkins herbicide

I sprayed the gamit and kerb and flexidor in a few different situations and timings etc Best result by far to be actually excellent was a pass of roundup a week ahead of transplant followed by the kerb and gamit and flexidor 3 days ahead of transplant. All other efforts a full waste of time...

    Sunflower safe herbicides

Thanks everyone for the info. The harrowing is going to be very tricky! Might just try some foliar grub and see if the sunflowers can out compete the weeds.

    Sunflower safe herbicides

I didn't precision sow these. Just sowed with regular drill. They are for people to look at and take Instagrams. Which wouldn't be great the way they are now! It's a pain!

    Phacelia safe herbicides

Hello, I grew a couple acres of phacelia to see if I could harvest the seed just for own cover mixes and also to look well and feed some hives. It didn't strike well and is now full of chickweed and fat hen. Any phacelia safe herbicides out there? Muchos gracias.
